Gordy's Dinner March 9, 2004

I was cutting up vegetables for dinner when I thought they might look pretty cool scanned at a high resolution. I lost control. Here are the ingredients for my dinner.

I started with between 1/4 and 1/3 cup of olive oil.

Then I crushed two cloves of garlic. I put garlic (one at a time) between two spoons and crushed well. ( I really need a garlic press.) Into the olive oil went the garlic. I put it aside to let those tasty garlic juices join the olive oil.

Then I started a pot of California brown rice.

At the appropriate time, I started steaming the vegetables. First I cut up half a carrott.

Then half a bunch of brocolli.

Then a section of red pepper.

And a large mushroom.

The trick is to have the rice and steamed vegetables done at the same time. Make a pile of cooked rice on the plate and dump the steamed vegetables on top. Then pour the garliced olive oil over it all and mix it all together. Yumm!

I was cooking, scanning, and eating at the same time and forgot to put the cheese on it. It goes well with a nice grated sharp cheddar, romano, or parmesan cheese. Next time.
