neck
straps — double attach point — string |
Cameras
not included with neck straps.

| The
double attach point string neck strap works well with the slot attach
point found on many twin lens reflexes, digital SLRs, digicams,
and binoculars. It also works well with cameras like the Hasselblad,
Pentacon Six, and Salut-s/Kiev with a post attach point.
The attach
string is 3 inches long and is made with the same .040 (1mm) dia
cord that I use for other straps. The attach string is in two loops
tied together with a bowline knot. It's much stronger that it might
appear. Check out the details of my strength
test on the home page.

The attaching
string is made of polyester cord which is very strong but it can
be cut so make sure your attaching lug has no sharp edges. If it
does you might consider a split-ring
strap with an o-ring strap bumper.
All double
attach point neck straps are US$27.

Most
twin lens reflexes use a slot to attach the strap. |

To attach
the strap to the slot:
1
The strap is shipped with the attach string on the strap. Remove
the attach string from the split ring. Slide the attach string throught
he camera slot with the small loop up.
2
Bring the small loop on to down through the large loop on the bottom
side to the slot.
3
Pull the small loop up tightening the attach string on the camera.
Reattach the split ring of the leather strap through the small loop.

The Hasselblad,
Pentacon 6, and Salut-S/Kiev use a post to attach the strap. You
don't need to remove the attach string from the strap. It attaches
the same way as the
string wrist strap. |

Digital
cameras don't need as long an attach string as the twin lens and
single lens reflex film cameras. For them the string has to be long
enough to let the split ring clear the body. They use a 3"
long attach string. Digital cameras can use a shorter 1 3/4"
attach string. It attaches the same way as the twin lens reflex
slot mount camera above.

My Minolta
binocular is very nice but came with the cheapest of plastic neck
straps. The string neck strap, with the short attach strings, is
a definite improvement. |
Your
choice of 1/4" wide natural, russet, dark brown, or black leather
with black, gray, white, red, green, blue, yellow, light brown,
brown, dark brown, raspberry, turquoise, orange, and hot pink .040" (1mm) diameter waxed heavy-duty
cord. Check out the Colors page.

My neck
straps will support pretty heavy loads but sometimes our necks won't.
The straps work fine for lighter cameras but, for those heavier
cameras, I have neck pads. These pads are 1" wide and 8 3/4"
long for good support. The edges are beveled. They are the same
leather as the straps and are available in the same colors. If you
want a neck pad, it must be ordered with the strap. Neck pads are
an additional US$13. See the Neck
Pad page. |
My neck
straps are not adjustable so specify the length desired. I will
need the length of the strap you want measured from end to end.
Centimeters or inches will work. Just let me know the unit of measure.
