Cameras not included with wrist straps.
The split ring is not appropriate for a lot ofcameras. Many cameras don't have lugs or a have a slot that the split ring will fit. Other cameras have posts to attach to which won't work at all with a split ring. A string strap works best for these cameras. This includes a lot of digital SLRs, small point and shoots, digicams, and cell phones with slots. Post mounted cameras include the Hasselblad, Pentacon Six, and Salut-S/Kiev. The attaching string is the same .040" dia (1mm) heavy duty waxed thread as the wrapping thread. The string is attached to the strap securely. Check out the strength test on the home page.
Like my other wrist straps, the string wrist straps come in a regular and a long for those with larger hands. The regular string strap is US$17 and the long string strap is US$18. All prices include world-wide shipping.
Attaching the strap to a slot
To attach the strap to the slot: 1 First you feed the string through the slot. You might need a pokey thing to push it through on cameras with a small slot like the Olympus XA series. 2 Remove the o-ring and feed the strap through the loop. 3 Pull tight and it's attached.
Attaching the strap to a post
To attach the strap to the post: 1 You don't need to remove the o-ring for this. Start with an open string. 2 Bend the tip back to make two ears. 3 Bend the ears down to make a loop and place it over the groove in the post. 4 Pull tight.
Colors
Your choice of 1/4" wide natural, chestnut brown, dark brown, or black leather with white, gray, black, red, green, blue, yellow, light brown, brown, and dark brown .040" (1mm) diameter waxed heavy-duty thread. Check out the Colors page. If you want to get wild and crazy, you can have different colors for the wrapping thread and the attaching thread.
Wrist Pads
Wrist pads are not available for string wrist straps. It is not possible to pass the pad through the string to mount the strap on the camera.
