Civilian casualties update

  Thursday   April 30   2009

This came at an opportune time. My step-daughter, Katie, sent this to me just when I felt I can't eek out another bit o' energy, like today to take 'Livvie to get some more subQ fluids:

A Women's Flaw

By the time the Lord made woman,
He was into his sixth day of working overtime.

An angel appeared and said, "Why are you spending so much time
on this one?"
And the Lord answered, "Have you seen my spec sheet on her?
She has to be completely washable, but not plastic, have over 200
movable parts, all replaceable and able to run on Diet Coke and leftovers,
have a kiss that can cure anything from a scraped knee to a broken heart
and she will do everything with only two hands."

The angel was astounded at the requirements.
"Only two hands!? No way!
And that's just on the standard model?
That's too much work for one day.
Wait until tomorrow to finish."

"But I can't," the Lord protested.
"I am so close to finishing this creation that is so close to my own heart.
She already heals herself when she is sick and can work 18 hour days."

The angel moved closer and touched the woman.
"But you have made her so soft, Lord."
"She is soft," the Lord agreed, "but I have also made her tough.
You have no idea what she can endure or accomplish."

"Will she be able to think?", asked the angel.
The Lord replied, "Not only will she be able to think,
she will be able to reason and negotiate."

The angel then noticed something, and reaching out,
touched the woman's cheek.
"Oops, it looks like you have a leak in this model.
I told you that you were trying to put too much into this one."

"That's not a leak," the Lord corrected,"that's a tear!"
"What's the tear for?" the angel asked.
The Lord said, "The tear is her way of expressing her joy, her sorrow, her pain, her disappointment, her love, her loneliness, her grief and her pride."
The angel was impressed. "You are a genius, Lord.
You thought of everything!
Woman is truly amazing."

Women have strengths that amaze men.

They bear hardships and they carry burdens, but they hold happiness, love and joy.
They smile when they want to scream.
They sing when they want to cry.
They cry when they are happy and laugh when they are nervous.
They fight for what they believe in.
They stand up to injustice.
They don't take 'no' for an answer when they believe there is a better solution.
They go without so their family can have.
They go to the doctor with a frightened friend.
They love unconditionally.
They cry when their children excel and cheer when their friends get awards.
They are happy when they hear about a birth or wedding.
Their hearts break when a friend dies.
They grieve at the loss of a family member, yet they are strong when they think there is no strength left.
They know that a hug and a kiss can heal a broken heart.

Women come in all shapes, sizes and colors.
The heart of a woman is what makes the world keep turning.
They bring joy, hope and love.
They have compassion and ideals.
They give moral support to their family and friends.
Women have vital things to say and everything to give.

However, there is one flaw in women,
THEY FORGET THEIR WORTH.

Thanks again Katie!
Peace >^^<

Miss Olivia Rose Gillman was taken to the vet's on Monday 'cuz I noticed she was losing weight and looked wrong. Although she looked and felt "right" to the vet, they took blood, 'cuz ~4 lbs in 6 weeks is bad.

The results were she's in renal failure. They are saying 6 months to a year. It was not caught because they had never done full bloodwork on her. I suggest to all pet owners to get a baseline earlier than during a crisis.

I spoke to Julie and she says we have time to try to make her feel well, and build up her energy. I will be contacting Beverly too -- she has gobs o' animals as well. So I will be looking for alternate approaches to help our little girl feel well, and dare to dream? be well.

livvie's tongue

As a kitten, often her tongue would hang out -- Mom said "Her tongue must be too long...". Later I learned, from a vet, that they find an energy spot in the house, and voila, the tongue - zoning out - kind of finding their bliss.

If you know of anything that has helped your kitty with kidney issues, alternative or "vet medicine" please write me with your story.

As always your prayers and light and energy is encouraged.
Thank you all. >^^<

Just a quickie of a catch up about Mom et al. To acclimate Mom to living at Bright Family Home, Nick has suggested I stay away from her for a bit which makes sense. So, she arrived safely, albeit late <--insert pacing here, on Thursday last. We spent a long time with her, and she was nervous and very chatty (that's one way she copes with her nerves) but that is ok. She did raise her voice in anger /anxiety a couple times, but that should be expected in a totally new new new environment.

She seemed tickled by her room that Kim and I set up.

We left her in good care, and I've been chatting with them regularly. We will see her in 2 days!!!!
I can't wait until Wednesday.

Jim and Mary phoned yesterday, and left a message with Nick. I checked with Nick, and he is having phone issues (lucky he has 2 lines) and so I passed the info on to Nick. Jim sounded good, and he and Mary were doing well. We are all eager to meet the newest Gillman who is expected in August. Maybe he'll join us on Gordy's b'day?

Jenna and Haley married Ray this past weekend! FABULOUS NEWS! I can't wait to get some snaps. I hope the family will visit me /us here on the Island!

This week is Brenda's baby shower! A new "cousin" to add to the Coalekids kids! Busybusy times ahead. AND, my b'day is next Monday, the 27th. I just had one!!! Another so soon?

Olivia >^^< has a vet appointment today -- she's lost so much weight -- I don't think it's a health issue as much as behaviour mod -- it scares me to pieces now. Please send light and love her way - she's such a good girl.

Thank you all!
xox Peace!
