Civilian casualties update

  Friday   December 19   2008

With about 30 more days left, a whole lot more damage can be done, and done under the radar. A recent example:

Information posted from the Planned Parenthood Organization;

Bush Administration Launches Final Attack on Women’s Health

"The Bush administration just implemented a rule that will allow individual health care providers to redefine abortion to include the most common forms of birth control — and then refuse to provide these basic services. A woman's ability to manage her own health care is at risk of being compromised by politics and ideology."

Here's a link sent to me from my first, on my own, parental approved date, oh, Woggy! We saw Von Ryan's Express (Two-Disc Collector's Edition) for those who are interested in the sordid details. Thank you for your political satire contribution -- but, Steve, where did we go wrong?!? Didn't we have a deal or two?

Do I add this? Don't I add this? Do I add this? Of course I have to!

Of course the cats all ran to, and from, this one.

I hate that my first entry has to do with Mom news, but it is. We rec'd a voicemail on Gordy's phone from Dr Khaligi that about 4:30PM yesterday Mom had a seizure. We didn't hear the message until later last night, so we phoned and spoke to Mary the charge nurse. She said that they heard a "gurgle" noise from Mom, and looked over at her in her chair and she started to "sieze" all limbs.

Apparently they can't do anything to restrain someone in a seizure. The positive piece of this is that she was already sitting down, so she didn't fall, like the previous time when she broke her nose. After the seizure is completed, there is a "seizure sleep" period where Mom isn't awake nor asleep exactly. It's the body trying to heal and rest and restore. That was the state she was in when I phoned. I offered some thoughts, but they weren't "well received" - actually, they prolly weren't really "heard".

This AM they said that Mom "was awake" and refused her medicine and was screaming. The next phone call Anita, the RN said that Mom was quiet, and she was kind on the phone. I mentioned the Zyprexa info again, and also said Mom may still have some home cooked food in the fridge--that maybe Mom may be willing to try some. It was heard, but maybe not followed up on? I'm not sure.

Later this afternoon, the doctor on call phoned about wanting Mom to go to St Clair for a CT to check for stroke or other blood issues. I told her that I did not want Mom overnighting there, and told her about previous issues at St Clair to be on top of. Given that I didn't want Mom admitted, if this was ok with her, and also manageable, that it was ok to go for it today. Basically she just wants more information to know what is happening with Mom and how to best treat her. As of that call she still had not taken any Rx. She does have her pain patch on at least.

Everyone knows to call me with any changes. I will prolly phone now to see if Mom is back yet from St Clair, and if they learned anything new. I love her and I'm so afraid. Gordy is feeling to sick to force a trip, and at this point, with my flu going strong, although the course of anti-biotics are done, to wait until Tuesday is probably best for everyone. But they know to call if I need to be there.

Please, anyone who reads this, please pray or send healing light and vibrations to my Mom. Thank you in advance. She must be so afraid and confused about her body's betrayal.
Peace
